Natural Hair Products.?

Hi!

I have recently just started straightning my wavy/curly hair and I need a good natural product to keep it from getting damaged and frizzy. I live in Florida by the water so I also need something that well help fight off frizz in humid weather. I am not allowed to buy anything off the internet and I would perfer it if I could pick up the product at the drugstore. I made one of my new years resolutions to go organic and use natural products.

Thank-you!

Does any one know anything about Silkener by Miss. Jessies (Natural Hair Product)?

Can you tell me anything about this product or process of Silkener? Softening the texture of the natural hair. You can see what I mean by visiting the site below. If your going natural, if you use this process is your hair still considered natural? HELP!

www.missjessies.comDoes any one know anything about Silkener by Miss. Jessies (Natural Hair Product)?
Doing some research online this is what I found:

Miko Branch, co-owner of Miss Jessie's Salon in Brooklyn, NY, says Miss Jessie's Silkener is a popular option for women who may not be completely comfortable with the transition from straight to curly or kinky hair.

';Those who need a little hand holding may look into a silkener because it gives you a shinier, smoother curl pattern,'; says Branch, who has gone natural over he past year. ';It's a happy medium between completely natural and completely relaxed.';

The silkener is a chemical process. We use sodium hydroxide, which is commonly known as lye, and we put it in typically natural hair in order to stretch it out. There has been a lot of controversy about silkeners and chemical processing in the natural hair community. But I think the reason it remains such a popular service is because it really helps people to get what they want, that curly hair sass,” Titi Branch, co-owner of explained.

So if you’re still curious about silkeners, Titi explained it all. An average silkener costs $300 and lasts for four months. “It liberates some women in a sense, because they can just wet their hair, use the product, and just air dry. Whereas before they might have needed to spend the time shingling their hair to achieve the same look. I mean, I understand what people are saying. They have a legitimate issue with it. But for many women, natural hair is very labor intensive. Most of our clients, when they come to the salon, they’re here three to four hours. It’s not just shake and go. You see with the coiling, what needs to be done to get it to look that way. That’s minimum three hours. It looks great, and it can last two weeks… but it takes time to make it look that way,” she says.

A silkener is basically another name for a texturizer IMO. As far as shingling, a few ladies on here have done that method so they could probably help. I don't think it's necessary to use Miss Jessie's products to shingle either.Does any one know anything about Silkener by Miss. Jessies (Natural Hair Product)?

Natural hair product?

I need a product for my hair that will protect it from heat styling, make my hair shiny, help with dry hair, and help with split ends. I know that there are many products out there, but everytime I use them I get pimples. So I need a product that won't cause acne. I have just bought a product called citre shine, but I haven't used it cause I 'm afraid it'll make me break out. Has anyone tried it? What was your experience as far as skin. Or maybe if someone has a homemade recipe or something. Please help me, thanks.Natural hair product?
I've used it before and never had problems. It's cheap and makes hair shiny. If you are getting pimples though, maybe you should try a gel or cream rather than something you spray; it might help you avoid contact with your skin.

  • Does anyone have tips for taking care of my natural hair? Products, tools, anything?

A couple years ago, I stopped getting my hair chemically relaxed (it's not really 'perming' even though that's the term usually used) and decided to wear my hair naturally. I love how much healthier my hair has become, but at the same time, I would love to get some tips on how to better care for it.

*I wash my hair usually once a week or once every couple weeks, depending on how dirty it gets, and I use wide-toothed combs.

*After I wash my hair, I use a hair blow dryer (the wide-tooth comb and the one on the dryer), because since my hair is naturally kinky, it gets really tangly when wet, and my hair breaks off.

*I do moisturize and use oil for my hair and scalp, but I found out that if I use too much, it makes it hard to cob and brush.

*Occassionally, I get my hair put into braids, sometimes just my own hair, sometimes I get those bags of fake hair.

*Also, I tie scarves on my head each night.

Other than that, I really just leave my hair alone. So, any tips?Does anyone have tips for taking care of my natural hair? Products, tools, anything?
Hi the last poster is correct, with regards to sulphates being hard on hair, it quite hard to find sulphate free products for our type of hair, Creme of Nature the red or green labeled shampoo is great, for moisturizing hair, and they use organic ingredients. or Keracare products are good to.Also use a Moisturising Conditioner .

    1) pre condition on dry hair with conditioner, wrap with a hot towel , leave for 20 mins or so. always suse conditioner on dry hair it works better, this way, as it doesnt have to struggle with lots of water.

    2) wash with a moisturising shampoo, applying to the roots and scalp. allow the run off to wash the rest of your hair. less drying on hair .

    3) Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor, or Affirms 5 in 1, every 4-6 weeks if you are experiencing any breaking

    4) finish with a Moisturising Conditioner for the last deep condition, mix this with any one of these natural oils, which you will warm, extra virgin olive oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba , advocado. wrap hair with wet hot twel again, and a plastic bag, leave on four atleast an hour or over night, for a deeper condition. rinse well. and lastly moisturise hair and seal this in with some oil.

I recently found this website aimed at black woman. It's called www.healthytextures.com. It deals with all aspects of our hair, from , Co-washing, and Pre-pooing . Air drying advice, Video tutorials on Wrapping relaxed hair, Techniques for Wrapping Natural hair, Moisturisers and oils to help moisturise and seal hair.

Maintaining natural styles, Softening roots and regrowth, Alternatives to direct heat for styling, Relaxing, Stretching relaxers, and it also has great product reviews.

There are various forums, where the woman share their knowledge, and ask questions. Some have pages with progress pics, showing, whats worked, their individual hair regimes, etc etc.

You wont be disappointed, take a look

hope these helpDoes anyone have tips for taking care of my natural hair? Products, tools, anything?
    1. Try a sulfate free shampoo- I have found those to be the most gentle. They do NOT lather, so be ready for it to be alittle weird at first.

    2. Instead of oil, try something with silk protein which can actually penetrate the hair- CHI Silk Infusion or Biosilk are 2 good examples.

    3. Sleep on satin pillowcases. I know this is good for the hair, but I personally don't like it. :)

    p.s. I LOVE natural hair!
1.Have a good diet which should include lots of leafy green vegetables, fruits and sprouts.

2.Avoid shampoos as far as possible. Instead use sikkakai or besan or paste of fenugreek seeds, it will clean and soften the hair. If that is not possible, then go for herbal shampoos.

3.Henna or mehandi is a best way to keep a cool head. It conditions the hair, promotes growth, protects our hair from the harmful effects of the sun and also gives a glossy tint. However persons with sinus problems should avoid this.

4.Use wide toothed comb to remove tangles and do not comb wet hair. Avoid using hair dryer to dry your hair. Do not tie your hair tightly. Always use coated rubber bands or soft hair tie.

5.Brush your hair daily using a brush with rounded tip bristles to improve blood circulation.

6.Apply paste of gooseberry powder to prevent hair graying and falling. You can add gooseberry powder to henna paste also. Include amla or gooseberry in your diet as it is a rich source of vitamin C.

7.Apply coconut oil mixed with lime juice for dandruff. This is an excellent home remedy for dandruff.

8.Soak 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. In the morning, grind it and apply the paste on the scalp and wash it off after half an hour to get rid of dandruff. This natural remedy for dandruff is very effective. This natural remedy also stops hair fall.

9.Heat coconut oil, switch off the gas when heated, then add neem flowers to it. Close it and keep it aside. When cooled, filter it and use that oil to prevent dandruff.

10.Grind white pepper with milk, warm it and apply it on the scalp, then wash it off after 15 minutes to cure dandruff. Do this once in a week.

11.Apply 2 tbsp of vinegar (diluted in a little water) to the scalp and massage gently and wash your hair after 15-20 minutes. This natural remedy also cures dandruff.

12.Fenugreek tea is not only good for the health but also nourishes and promotes hair growth if taken regularly.

13.Cover your hair with a scarf or shawl during travel to prevent tangles and to protect your hair from dust.

14.Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so that the oil gets absorbed into the hair. Do this once a week for healthy, shiny hair.

15.Avoid chemical treatment on your hair. Hibiscus flowers and leaves are good conditioners for the hair. You can grind 2-3 leaves or flowers and use its juice along with your herbal shampoo.

    16. Always dilute shampoo in a little water and use it .Do not use it directly. Wet your hair first and then apply this diluted shampoo.

17.Amla oil nourishes and promotes hair growth. It also prevents hair fall.

18.Mayonnaise is an excellent conditioner for dry hair .Massage your scalp with mayonnaise and leave it for half an hour. Then shampoo as usual. Always rinse your hair well so that no traces of shampoo is left behind.

19.Apply a few drops of olive oil to get rid of frizz.

20.Massage your scalp with olive oil using your finger tips. Remain for half an hour and wash hair well .This natural remedy is an excellent conditioning treatment. Do this once in a week for healthy hair. It also controls frizz.

21.Vinegar is a great conditioner and can give shine to your hair. Mix 1 tbsp of vinegar to a mug of water and use it to your last rinse. It also controls frizz in dry hair.

22.Dilute 3 tbsp of beer in a mug of water and use it for the final rinse to give your hair a healthy shine.

23.Boil soap nut skin in water, cool it and use that water for the last rinse for silky hair.

24.Conditioner for dry hair: Beat an egg well and add 1/2 tbsp of olive oil and 1/2 tsp of vinegar to it .Mix well and apply it to your scalp and remain for half an hour. Then wash well with a good shampoo.

25.Drink 8-9 glasses of water daily.

26.Squeeze juice of 1 lemon in a mug of water and use it for the final rinse for oily hair.

27.Apply Egg white on the scalp and wash it off after 15-20 minutes. This home remedy stops hair fall and also nourishes the hair.

28.Take food rich in protein, essential fatty acids, carotenes, iron, silica, zinc, Vitamins E , C ,Vitamin B (especially biotin) to have a healthy head of hair.

29.Exercise for 5 days a week as it improves blood circulation to your scalp.

30.Lastly maintain a healthy life style as the health of your hair is related to your lifestyle.

How can I look good with my natural hair (products, anything?) NO HOT TOOLS?

My hair is naturally ';stravy'; (straightish wavy), but it looks soooooooo ugly natural. The waves aren't full or ANYTHING, they're such limp, lame waves, and I use mousse and thickener and EVERYTHING, like every product, and my waves don't look good. And I tried a flat iron but it makes your ends soooooooo dry even if you use the best heat protectant and it fades my hair dye.

And if you even mention a flat/curling iron, blow dryer, ANY hot tool, you will not get best answer.

    :D

Looking for a store that sells natural hair products?

    Hi there,

I'm looking for a local store here in St. Louis that carries all natural products. It doesn't have to be for specific hair use but needs to be 100% natural. I'm looking for butters/oils that are at a reasonable price. An example would be shea butter (unrefined), coconut butter/oil, jojoba oil and other pure oils. I really appreciate the help!

P.S. I'd shop online, but I don't like waiting for products and for stuff like this I'd like to see it in person first before purchasing.

Oh! also, I've already been to Trader Joe's and didn't see any butters. Also I've checked Whole Foods and even if I did find something there I wouldn't pay for it. Whole Foods is too expensive for me.Looking for a store that sells natural hair products?

Mineral Makeup for Black women and natural hair products. I am thinking of using Mineral Indulgence?

Hi, I have heard rave reviews about Mineral Indulgence mineral makeup for women of color and wanted to know if anyone else has tried it. I got a sample at my dermatologists office a while ago and loved it but their website is not showing the selections now. I emailed them and was told that they have sold out of many of the shades and are now restocking. Do they have a store in Atlanta? Well I have the same hair type as you and I use all Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Collection. Its designed for our type of curly hair and it works wonders. Its alcohol-free chemical free and is super cheap!!! I use the gel and mousse on my damp or dry hair and it eliminates frizz, static and creates bouncy curls. Its AMAZING and only about 3 dollars a product.

~good luck and hope I helped
Here's a natural shampoo/conditioner that you can make:

All you do is mix miracle whip with avocado and voila!

Okay, I know this sounds like a joke, but it's not.

I saw it on TV and first I was scared to try it but I did and it works wonders. The avocado keeps your hair soft and shiny while the miracle whip makes your hair strong and healthy.

    Trust me it works!

WHAT ARE SOME NATURAL HAIR PRODUCTS AT WAL-MART OR H.E.B.?

HELP...WHAT ARE SOME NATURAL HAIR PRODUCTS ...WELL AT WAL-MART OR H.E.B....THAT MEANS FOR ME IT CONTAINS NO PETROLEUM,MINERAL OIL,ALCOHOL,OR SULFATE,UNNATURAL FRAGRANCESWHAT ARE SOME NATURAL HAIR PRODUCTS AT WAL-MART OR H.E.B.?
At walmart they have giovanni products which are organic. The conditioners do not have any bad ingredients but the shampoo's have some silicones so i don't use the shampoo's. Burt's bees is a great natural care line and most of their ingredients are natural. They also have abba product. Their true curls shampoo is sulfate free. The best place to buy natural hair product is whole foods, central market or online. Many drugstores do not have much to offer and many of the ';organic'; products contain bad ingredients. Some great brands are aubrey organics, J/A/S/O/N organics, oyin, qhemet biologics, devacurl, and ojon.

You can get all organic natural shampoo and conditioner at Walgreens called Organix. I use it and it smells great and makes your hair super soft%26lt;3. They have different scents for every hair type.All-Natural hair products?
Not to be rude but Walgreens is not going to have natural hair care products. It will say ';Natural'; and they just mean it has a squirt of lemon in it. When you look at the ingredients there will be many, many things you can't even pronounce.

Now, the best products I have ever used are called ';Simply Organic.'; You do have to order them online and they are VERY affordable ($20-$26). A big misconception people have is that organic and natural means expensive. It costs less to harvest lilac than it does to build a factory to make a horrible chemical additive. Just compare to salon prices and ingredients. Simply Organic is a steal!

Try Organix Citrus Mango Curling shampoo, conditioner, and curl reactivator. I love them, I don't have naturally curly hair (it has a slight wave in it, but that's it). But it really defines the waves and makes it curly. And it makes my hair shiny, so just wonder what it can do for your hair. Here's the website if you want to read more about them and the company: http://www.organixhair.com/citrusmango.a

It's only about $7 each for the shampoo and conditioner and the reactivator is about $5 and you can get them in drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid. =)I need my bouncy curls back I need a cheap, preferably natural hair product. That I can find in the 57702 area
A mousse will reactivate any curl you have. Layers will also help, if you hair is too long, the curl will be dragged down.
I have naturally curly hair and I discovered, by trial and error, that conditioners made my curls go flat. So did shampoos that had a conditioner in them. It seemed that anything I put on my clean hair weighed the curls down so, in my case, using less products did the trick. Now I use Neutrogena Clean Volume Body Enhancing shampoo and my curls are back. I apply a light mist of hairspray once my hair is dry and it stays in place all day. I also use a diffuser on my blow dryer so the curls don't get blown out by the force of the air.

What are good natural hair products???

I say that it all depends on the kind of problems or moisture that your hair may need.

I use a new website and product that are natural based and organic based and they have improved my hair condition and shine.

I am looking for a natural gel or mousse that will make my waves more orderly, a little more glossy and less frizzy. Thank you! What type of natural hair product can help tame my wavy hair?
I like the Garnier Curl Scrunch Gel. I have the exact same problem as you with excessive straightening. You don't have to put alot of this stuff in your hair or it can feel sticky, but it really helps the curls in my hair when i wear it natural like that.

Can you give me some examples of natural hair products?

like calamansi, aloe vera, coconut oil.

    WHAT ELSE ARE THERE?

thankyou! :)Can you give me some examples of natural hair products?
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

http://www.beautifulhamesha.com/Herbal-HCan you give me some examples of natural hair products?
I think Aussie Australia use Blue Gum Tree for their anti-frizz products?
some great conditioners: Henna, yogurt, Indian Gooseberry, Fenugreek Seeds/Leaves, and eggs of course

cleanser: fuller's earth, Shikakai (Acacia Concinna)
Un true about the comment about Australians.

To name a few good natural treatments,

Lemon Juice, but not in excess. (small amounts) For blonde Hair!!

Also mixed with a natural Conditioner these can be good for soft and shiny hair:

    Aloe Vera .

    Rose Buds

    Cashews

    Lavender

    Rose Oil

    pretty much anything Herbal.

Also fish oil is great although the sound of it is enough to make someone queasy to the stomach. Make sure you mix with plenty of conditioner. You'd have to use a cheap scented one for the fish oil.

What are some natural hair products for dry, frizzy and wavy hair??

Please help!! my hair is driving me crazy!!!What are some natural hair products for dry, frizzy and wavy hair??
You can use coconut oil sparingly on hair to smooth down when it is dry (don't use too much) and it can also be used as a pre wash mask to nourish hair.

If your hair is wavy, try not to brush it when it is dry (will only make it frizzy!) and also try and not wash it very much. I know it sounds gross, but dry hair needs natural oils to coat it to smooth it down more than straight hair does. Because it is dry, you won't get the greasy yuck look for a lot longer than those with straight hair either. What are some natural hair products for dry, frizzy and wavy hair??
I use great burdock oil...it does make your hair oily...but it washes out fast...after second time..it is more or less gone...whilst olive oil is hard to wash out...especially if you use a lot...it is not necessarily bad idea, but i prefer great burdock..

It makes your hair shiny, easy to comb and healthy glow is present...i also use it for may kid's hair...

Best time to use it is over a weekend...so you can see results...do not over use it, massage it gently into scalp...and wash it out with shampoo and warm water..twice is best...apply conditioner..i do it two times a month...
The best is new brand just coming out called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it won't dry out your hair. And...it smells awesome! They have different collections and different fragrances for different hair types. You'll be able to get Organix in the next few weeks at Kroger, Target, Duane Reade, Albertsons, etc. You'll love it!!!

    www.organixhair.com
go to a local drug store, and find Pantiene (sorry, i can't spell it)
Olive oil is also great. Apply on your hair and massage it all over to include your scalp. Then wrap your head with a hot towel. Let it stay for about twenty minutes. Then rinse well with a nice smelling shampoo afterwards. Feels so good, and your hair will look great and feel manageable after this home treatment. My officemates always think I got a new hairdo everytime I do this to myself. Try it!
try an aveda product. i love this one called self control! you can find a salon that carries it, online.
Try the new brand Organix. They're great!
olive oil works well, warm it a little and apply to hair for about a half hour. Then rinse.

I have thick, medium-long, slightly wavy, kinda frizzy hair.. What are the best natural hair products for the?

best out of my hair? I have been straightening it a lot recently because if I don鈥檛 it is really poofy. And what is all this I hear about oiling your hair? I really appreciate the help!I have thick, medium-long, slightly wavy, kinda frizzy hair.. What are the best natural hair products for the?
The best natural hair product for this type of hair (and really ANY hair) is a possitive attitude. Try thinking happy, possitive thoughts when you are in the shower and you will soon see the results.I have thick, medium-long, slightly wavy, kinda frizzy hair.. What are the best natural hair products for the?
I have the same hair type. Try a shampoo and conditioner that is designed for curly hair, Herbal Essences has some nice ones. But, definitely get ';Garnier curling cream'; it comes in a small jar and is only about 2.95. You only have to use a little so it lasts longer and it works great. After you take a shower when your hair is damp, you just put a little in the palm of your hands and rub your hands together to activate it and smooth on the ends of your hair. It tones down the puffiness and gets rid of the frizz. When your hair dries, it looks like soft curls.
I hope you are conditioning your hair like crazy if you are still straightening it!! But if you want to stop, try the newer shampoos made for curly/wavy hair, like Vive and Sunsilk; I have coarse wavy hair and they really do make a difference!! just be sure to get the conditioner that goes along with it..it'll be a nice break for your hair..never heard of 'natural' products for wavy/frizzy hair, but these products will help you a lot....good luck!!
My daughter has this same problem. My cousin, a hair dresser, got her Biosilk products from JC Pennys. They also have it at Sam's Club. The kit pack works well. It has a glazing gel and a silk shine product. Used with the shampoo and condition her hair was in the best condition ever.
i have that same hair. try pantene or head and shoulders.

hot oiling you hair is basically puting bioling hot oil in your hair and washing it out after you shampoo. its a way to deep condition and it makes your hair softer

  • I am a college student but I want to get into selling natural hair products for African American hair. Help.?

I am interested in the internet as an avenue or becoming an independent seller. I do not create the products. I just want to become a retailer.I am a college student but I want to get into selling natural hair products for African American hair. Help.?
I've seen this happen with a couple of folks %26amp; it is working out well.

First thing is to talk to a copule of salons that you personally go to or folks you know go to with a solid reputation. Ask them for their best product lines %26amp; do some research on them. Once you know the product, contact the company and find out about being a retailer or how to be one of their reps in selling the items. (they might ask you to work with a salon or to try the products or even take some of their in-house courses to know the product in detail...whichever is the case, do it. It shows your ability to be a coachable person in the field %26amp; to move their product because you know the behind the scenes approach if you understand what I mean by that.

Lastly, is to work with a salon (and this worked well for my own mother). She sells to one of the more reputable salons here in Toronto %26amp; is quite happy because she brings the product to the clients while they are in the chairs getting their hair-did! Or if the salon is out of something, she has it in her car or in the travelling bag on hand.

There are loads of product %26amp; even the hair itself to market.

I know this venture will be successful for you....

    Congrats!

I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

    http://www.beautifulhamesha.com/Shine-yo
follow these tips to repair it

    # Have patience.

    # Take time out to care for your hair.

    # Change your diet to improve the health of your hair and minimize hair breakage. Eat a diet that is high in whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Be sure you are getting enough essential fatty acids, also known as omega-3. Some good sources of omega-3 include salmon, herring, flax seed, walnuts, olive oil and lean meats, among others.

    # Take vitamin E and B supplements, or better yet, take a multi-vitamin every day. It may take awhile before you see improved results in your hair, but adding these vitamins to your diet works toward repairing hair breakage from the inside out.

    # Use moisturizing shampoos and conditioners every time you wash your hair. Avoid pulling or twisting your hair when washing or drying it.

    # Get your hair trimmed regularly to prevent split ends from traveling up the hair shaft to the roots. It is a good idea to have split ends trimmed once a month.

    # the first home remedy is a hot oil treatment. This treatment is great for many things, however is perfect for hair breakage

here is a great homemade remedy to treat breakage

    * The first home remedy is hair mayonnaise recipe. The first step is to combine and whisk two egg yolks in a small bowl.

    * now, cut an avocado into two halves. Remove the skin of one half and place it in a separate bowl. Then use a fork to mash the avocado.

    * Add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to avocado and whisk olive oil and avocado together until they are one texture.

    * Whisk the egg yolk separately. Then add the yolk to the avocado and olive oil blend; continue whisking until they are one composition.

    * Now apply throughout the hair, however concentrate on the areas that need it most (like the ends or hair in back of the head).

    * Leave in the hair for about a half hour and then shampoo and condition hair as usual.

    * Repeat these steps every 3 days or weekly until there is an improvement in the overall condition of the hair. You should be able to see results after about 2 to 3 weeks. If not, please consult with a professional.
my hair was like that too until i used Vanart: Egg Protein and Honey shampoo it really helped you can find it at any walmart its about 3 bucks!

What are some haircare brands that sell organic and all natural hair products (shampoos etc,.)?

My personal favorite brands are Avalon and Kiss My Face. Everyone's hair and skin is different and you should try different brands to find what works best for you!

Because these brands can be expensive, I usually buy several bottles of shampoo and conditioner in one order, along with other personal care products, from online discount suppliers. The last one I ordered from is http://betterlife.com because they had the lowest prices on the brands I use, but there are many online suppliers.

At betterlife.com, type 'shampoo' in the search field to see the dozens of brands you can try. When you select an item, they list all of its ingredients, so you can find out if it contains chemicals you want to avoid.

They shipped everything with plenty of padding so nothing leaked in transit. I'm in the USA--if you're in another country, I'm sure you can find suppliers. Also, your local health food stores carry many of these brands, and sometimes they'll have travel-size bottles so you can try different brands. What are some haircare brands that sell organic and all natural hair products (shampoos etc,.)?

I am black and I have long hair. I am not sure if it is genetic because all of my relatives have long hair I have used creme of nature, and frutose for my hair. I also use moisturizer... no hair grease. I don't like my hair oily. I don't use heat in my hair either. My hair is wrapped and dryed naturally. Since my hair is wrapped, my hair usually fall in place. Also, I pull my hair back a lot too... I never use rubber bands or tight bands in my hair. I use flexible scrunchies
OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have long hair and its all mine. I use Nioxin %26amp; Paul Mitchell products on my hair. I eat yogurt and take Folic Acid %26amp; Biotin. It makes the hair so happy it can't help but to grow. Try salon products if you can afford them, they work better and do not clog the hair follicles like many of the over the counter (natural) hair products. Be sure to read the labels of what you buy and steer clear of too much lanolin or wax as they create build up and the hair behaves badly when its weighed down by junk. Also, sleep in a satin cap, use good brushes, limit your heat styling and GET THOSE ENDS TRIMMED! Good Luck and Happy Growing.
I'm not BLACK... but i do use natural products from a great company called Lush! They sell lotions, shampoos, perfumes bath bombs... !

    You can order online too!

yea sure 80% natural products are good 4 ur hair...of course black girl can have long hair:)
duh just cuz u black dont mean u cant hve long hair look at beyonce (good hair)
I use African Pride Herbal Hairdressing. Anyone can grow long hair, they just have to take care of it. Limit your use of heat type hair appliances, limit your use of chemicals, stay away from products that contains: alcohol, ammonia, chlorine, fragrances, Isoprapyl Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Petroleum, all are damaging to our hair. Message your scalp and hair line and temple areas at least two times a week. Always wrap up your hair at night, do not use rubber bands in your hair. Don't over brush or comb your hair, this causes the hair to stretch and snap off.
It depends on what product %26amp; yes black people can have long hair when I was 11 I had long hair, but know I have kinda long hair.
danm yeah ***** just cause we black doesn't mean we cant have no hair

    you racist *****
I guess it is, and YES black girls can grow their hair long, check out. www.longhaircareforum.com ;-)

Uh, its kind of hard b.c you;re in a college dorm, but olive oil. Soak your hair in olive oil, out a shower cap on top of it, and wrap an old towel around your neck. Do this at least once a week. If you out it on in the bathroom, over the sink, then put the shower cap and towel, it shouldnt be messy at all.

i would also like to sell these online...what advice can you give me? thanks!I want to creat my own natural hair products, but what legalities do i need to consider?
Contact your state if you want to do this at home. They can provide you with the state laws. Each state has a website, so just do a search for yours.I want to creat my own natural hair products, but what legalities do i need to consider?
Check with the SBA (Small Business Administration)
The first thing is getting in touch w; the guys from FDA food and drugs administration and see what do you need for a valid license........
First call your local state department and find out how you can get started. You also need to know about the laws. You have to be really careful.
Maybe you should research what natural products are already being sold via the internet. Or work in an organic store and gather more information to see what it would take to sell natural products. A little research will take you a long way to reaching your goal.

I have super dry hair, and one of the reason is because I wash my hair everyday and the chemical strips away the natural oil.

I am trying coconut oil because some people here say it is good.

But for starter, you need to get a shower filter because chlorine is one of the source for dry hair as it bleaches the hair and strips away natural oil from your hair and skin. read more here

Try making your own, I do. There are tons of recipes out there to find, some good some not. Find one you like and you will love it, I promise. The ingredients are so easy to find, and there are so many scents you will never get tired of making them. Check out my blog for some recipes, or type in a homemade shampoo search.

Why dont more people buy natural hair products? arent they meant to be the best for hair?

is this true? im giving up all commercial shampoos and buying natural shampoos from america. why dont more people buy natural shampoos?

all you hear about is pantene, vo5, head and shoulders, herbal essences-no one seems to chat about natural hair shampoos such as tea tree anymore. doesnt anybody mind that their hair is getting slightly f**ked up by all the harsh ingredients? Why dont more people buy natural hair products? arent they meant to be the best for hair?
i rarely see the natural ones and the few i have tried always have a nasty smell and dry out my hair. Shampoo isn't bad for your hair just because it isn't natural. Why dont more people buy natural hair products? arent they meant to be the best for hair?
Most natural hair products are more expensive.

(For natural hair women ONLY) What are good natural hair products that are recommended and good for your hair?

I just need to know what are some good natural hair products. The type of hair I have is naturally curly. It's the type of curly that produces waves when it is slick back by gel. So please if you know, leave your answer on good natural hair products that doesn't have ingredients bad for your hair.(For natural hair women ONLY) What are good natural hair products that are recommended and good for your hair?
It really depends on your own hair, but I find myself gravitating more and more toward natural and organic products. I use Wen cleansing conditioner; its a completely natural line and is even patented. I also use Giovanni and Yes to Carrots hair care lines; both are organic and can be found at some Walgreen's. Giovanni is very light on my hair, and Yes to Carrots Cucumber conditioner gives my hair lots of moisture; I just bought the leave-in and so far it's great and very moisturizing. Dr. Bonners is a 100% organic hair care line that I've heard good reviews about, but never tried it.

There are many natural and organic hair care lines to choose from, and many of them can be found at health foods stores. Just keep in mind that many products pretending to be natural might only have a few natural, or organic, ingredients. Yes to Carrots and Giovanni have nearly 100% organic ingredients and Dr Bonners is completely organic.

I also use raw products like shea and cocoa butters and jojoba, olive, and coconut oils.

I bought the Pantene Texture puddy to slick back my hair with and it's soft just like gel. It's not natural though, and I think it has alcohol, which dries out the hair. I've also heard great reviews about Carol's Daughter, which is natural. There's also Mixed Chicks, which is for curly hair types, but I don't know if it's natural.(For natural hair women ONLY) What are good natural hair products that are recommended and good for your hair?
Depending the condition what you want.

Means if you want shiny and thin hair, then you must use the Coconut Oil.

Mustured oil is good to make the hair thick.

Olive oil is used to create new hairs on head. but it's not soo much good.

    Other oils have different property.
Carol's Daughter products are good for natural hair and Miss Jesse's Curly Pudding. I also use olive oil moisturizer on my hair to keep it moistured. Hope I helped!!!

What are good natural hair products for African American women to fight against breakage?

This is a good website with homemade hair recipes made with natural ingredients and different oils.

pantene woman of color collection. they got shampoos, conditioners and oil mosturizers for black hairWhat are good natural hair products for African American women to fight against breakage?
Hi. Northwest Scents natural black hair care products are formulated to be extra gentle and very moisturizing. For information visit http://www.black-hair-growth.info/black-
As a stylist who specializes in natural hair care, I can reccomend some good tips and natural hair care products for your hair. I have several clients with relaxers and hair breakage and there hair is growing at 1-2 inches a month with an all natural hair growth shampoo called A Double Portion Super Hair Growth. It works wonderful on stopping breakage and actually hydrates African American and Ethnic Hair.

I also have several other tips to help your breaking hair. If you follow these, your hair should be in tip top shape in no time.

Assess whether you live an unhealthy lifestyle or use traditional drugstore hair products that contain alcohol and sulfates. If you do, you can potentially be stunting your hair growth. Switch to an all-natural hair growth product and follow the tips below. You will see a difference.

    Tip #1: Change your diet.

Increase your intake of proteins. Eat fish, eggs, beans, yogurt, and cheese. Drink a soy protein shake daily.

Tip # 2: Drink plenty of water

6-8 glasses is a must. 8-12 is even better.

    Tip #3: Get your vitamins

Take a B Complex, Fish Oil, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E.

Tip #4: Only use an all-natural hair growth or hair thickening shampoos and conditioners

There are several good natural shampoos on the market, such as Aubrey Organics and Giovanni. However, I have used A Double Portion Super Hair Growth Shampoo on my hair loss clients because it is created specifically for hair growth and I have seen substantial results in a matter of a month. It is full of hair growth promoting essential oils, sage, cayenne, neem, jojoba, and aloe. For my clients that used it, their hair got thicker, longer, and softer. You can find it online at wwwdiscoverb4acom. It is great shampoo just for making your hair more manageable and smooth as well.

Tip #5: Place as little heat and chemicals on your hair as possible. No hair coloring please.

Tip #6: Live a stress free life.

Tip #7: Get your blood flowing

Aerobic exercise stimulates blood circulation throughout the entire body, including the scalp. This is important for hair growth. Also, consider massaging your scalp for 5-10 minutes a day with warm olive or coconut oil. It will accentuate your hair growth as well.
I like the Pinon leaf shampoo bar--it's good for dry hair

also the Rosemary nettle for dark hair works well.

    http://www.prairielandherbs.com/hair.htm

I also recomment Mirtha de Perales Oil shampoo ';S';,

    http://www.mirtadeperales.us/cgi-local/w

I'd also go get a bottle of coconut oil in an Asian or Hispanic grocery store.

The best products I use are:

    Volume Clarifying Shampoo

Volume Clarifying Shampoo adds maximum body and fullness to hair while providing gentle yet invigorating cleansing of the hair and scalp. Pro-vitamin B5 and biotin help to retain water and swell every strand while green tea and chamomile promote softness and sheen. Available in 10 oz., Litre and Gallon.

    Moisture Benefits Shampoo

This gentle cleansing shampoo contains peach extract, irish moss, ginseng and wheat protein all of which moisturize and condition hair without weighing it down. Moisture Benefits Shampoo soothes and replenishes, leaving your hair feeling healthy and refreshed. Available in 10 oz., Litre and Gallon.

    Moisture Balancing Conditioner

A balancing blend of natural olive oil and coconut, Moisture Balancing Conditioner moisturizes and protects your hair without weighing it down. Essential triglycerides add softness, shine and silkiness to your hair for effortless combing and minimized breakage.

Depending on where your live your stylist may be able to locate a distributor.

    Good Luck!!!
That really depends on why the hair is breaking. Despite what the commercials promise there is no quick fix for hair breakage. Black hair breaks off for several reasons ( environmental, stress, dryness, over processing, vitamin deficiency and others) and until that reason is found and corrected. It will be hard to stop the breakage. While I will mention a couple of product names there is no ';best'; product for Black hair nor do you need to spend 50 dollars on the most expensive product. Without knowing the particulars and for simplicity suppose someone is trying to grow out a relaxer or other chemical treatment or just fighting routine dryness. Pantene Relaxed and Natural products provide excellent moisture without having to spend hours in the beauty supply store trying different products. After shampoo and conditioning a light non-petroleum based oil moisturizer should do it. No matter the name of the conditioner that is used regularly, Make sure that it is NOT a protein based conditioner. Too much protein can dry the hair and cause it to break. Moisture is key to healthy natural hair with protein added as needed for restructure. So once or twice a month give a deep protein conditioning with a product like Mizani Kerafuse. Be careful with any heat implements also. If you must straighten the hair this is where you may have to spend a little money. Use real ceramic flat irons ( not the ones in the drug store) on the lowest setting possible to acheive your desired results. Real ceramic does not dry the hair but the drug store models have ceramic mixed with some other alloy which can stick to your hair and pull it out.
try shaving cream and a bic razor.

Aubrey Organics conditioner is wonderful, there shampoos on the other hand are really drying. Instead of qhemet you can just use avocado butter (great moisturizing leave in). For shampoo try black soap or dr. bronners liquid castile soap. The castile soap is concentrated so you should dilute it 8 parts water to 1 part soap. Put it in a squirt bottle and aim directly at the roots, let the rinse off clean the rest of her hair.

What are some really good all-natural hair products for African Americans?

I've been reading on hair and I found out that there's a lot of ingredients in shampoos and conditioners that strip our hair dry instead of moisturizing it. So I'm switching to all natural, I heard that beauty 4 ashes has some really good products for ethnic hair. And a lot of greases have mineral oil and petrolatum in it which does nothing but clog the hair. Does anybody use any good ones, and how does it make your hair feel? Thanks! What are some really good all-natural hair products for African Americans?

What are some natural hair products for black hair?

Honestly I use a product called doo-gro as directed and I swear by these products and I have had about 2 inches of growth a month and healthly shiny hair that people no comment on I swear by these products I wish that I have found them sooner they are amazing they are about 5.50 at sally and I bought the whole line about the 8 things and I will put nothing else in my hair. Try it for a month I swear you will be amazed!!!What are some natural hair products for black hair?
what do you mean? do u mean shampoos? well i know that the best shampoo for everybodys hair is bain de terre! my mom, dad, and i am using it. they both have black hair and i have a dirty blonde color. so anyway we use it and it leaves our hair glowing, sparkling, soft, and when you comb it then hair dry it it leaves it phenomenal! it leaves it so bright and its just great!!!What are some natural hair products for black hair?
The best natural hair products are Carol's daughter you can get some from sephora.
carol's daughter...i personally use silicon mix you can find this in many beauty supply stores and it's formula was made in santo domingo, dominican republic. it works great.
    try this website
    pantene
i dont know cause i have brown hair srry :(

What are some natural hair products that grow black hair?

Over the pst year my hair has grown and I don't want it to break off. I heard that hair products that contain petrolatum and mineral oil is bad for your hair because it clogs your scalp and prevents your hair from growing. Most products have petrolatum and mineral oil, but does anybody know any natural oils that can help grow black hair? What are some natural hair products that grow black hair?
Well you can use natural oils that help lock moisture in your hair such as coconut, grapesseed, and olive oil are some to name a few. You can do many things with these, you can heat them and give yourself a hot oil treatment, or combine them with your favoriteconditionerr and give your self a pre-conditioning treatment. Mix oils and conditioner together and apply to dry hair cover with plastic cap or sit under a dryer for about 20 to 30 mins or longer if you choose. Then wash and condition as usual, by doing this you help protect your hair from shampoos that strip your hair of its natural oils.

Also i use organic shampoo and conditioner, it is called Giovanni, you can it at walmart or target, its usually near the other organic or natural made products. While you don't have to use this, you should try to find a shampoo that is sulfate free, that way it doesn't strip and dry out your hair.

Other things to help your hair grow are limiting the amount of heat you use, if you want to flat iron your hair, let it air dry first as opposed to blow drying, and always use a heat protectant.

Lastly, if you were your hair out often, try doing more protective styles such as buns or braids that protect the ends of your hair. When your hair is down and left out all the time your ends rub on your shirt and other things, which can lead to premature split ends, this can then lead to breakage and weaker hair. What are some natural hair products that grow black hair?
Coconut oil with amla or any oil that contains amla. I personally don't like any other oil than coconut oil, so what i do is add amla powder or directly amla to the oil and boil it (need to be cautios not to burn it), store it and use it as needed.
Rosemary oil and peppermint oil are good for hair growth.I use an natural shampoo and leave in conditioner by Giovanni..I've been using it for about 2 months and have seen alot of growth! I also cover my head at night with Triple gro satin bonnet that I believe has helped!
jojoba oil, olive oil, there are many oils that don't have petrolatum in them, they're sold in most beuty supply stores. There's a brand that I like called Mega Care and they sell a lot of different oils
    maybe coconut oil

Or you could just let your hair curly

Long hair is the best, but it can also be your worst enemy.

    1. If you want a to wear your long hair and keep it looking young a fresh go with some front bangs.

    2. if you want a more sophisticated fresh look go for the side swept bang, it is fresh and sexy.

    3. if you want a nice and everyday wear, just straighten it and that makes it look shiny and silky.

    4. long hair is best for parties and dates or special occasions because there is so much you can do with it;

sexy curls, relaxed waves, or the half, you just have to find the right look for you. try to google long hair styles, that should help. Also, never let your hair just lay flat with no natural volume then you long hair just looks old and lengthy.Good Luck and love your long hair cuz i do!What is a good long hair style?

Any good long hair styles for me?

My hair if straight reaches down to my lower neck, and my parents want me to get a haircut, but I do not want one. So can anyone give me an idea so my hair looks a lot nicer, and suitable for my parents.Any good long hair styles for me?
Yeah keep your long hair, and have a forward graduation, choppy look cut into it, it means styling it a bit but its easy to do just blow dry it all forward and define the ends with a mud or a putty also ask your hair dressser, it might keep the parents off the back if at least there is abit of a style in it. good luck hope i've helped a bit.Any good long hair styles for me?

Good hair product for styling longer hair (men's)?

I'm growing my hair out. It is normally very short and spikey. I've always used Bed Head Mastermind, which was perfect for that.

Now my hair looks more like a surfer, similar to Mathew McConaughey. The length is also making my hair curly and whispy (for lack of a better word).

I need something that will control the fly away but still give it volume and weight. Make sense?

I don't think the Bed Head is working with my current hair length, not to mention I go through it super fast anymore.

Help?Good hair product for styling longer hair (men's)?
it depends what sort of style you want/how quickly you need to style your hair but i've always found TRESemme Curl Defining Moose to do a good job. it just helps hair look neater and you can control how much you use etc,Good hair product for styling longer hair (men's)?

    sloppy buns are always cute

twist hair around until it wraps into a bun, secure with a hair tie %26lt;3

leave your bangs out, straiten them if you think it looks better

it also looks cute to leave a few of the shorter pieces of hair out in the front, straiten them too if you'd like
A side braid with your bangs down. or just a side pony with just a little wave in it here is a picture.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;Hair Styles [Long Hair]?
Pull hair at top of crown, twist, and push forward a little for a cute pompadour. Secure with two crossing bobby pins and leave down or put in a pony-tail. Straighten if your hair is already straight fr a cute look. Or not, it looks good either way.

Give a long side-part and comb. Put into a loose side-pony-tail(on the big side of the part) and push over shoulder.

Get a cute-coloured elastic headband. Put around entire head(crossing over forehead) and push up a little, or pull down for a cute, urban look.
