Good hair product for styling longer hair (men's)?

I'm growing my hair out. It is normally very short and spikey. I've always used Bed Head Mastermind, which was perfect for that.





Now my hair looks more like a surfer, similar to Mathew McConaughey. The length is also making my hair curly and whispy (for lack of a better word).





I need something that will control the fly away but still give it volume and weight. Make sense?





I don't think the Bed Head is working with my current hair length, not to mention I go through it super fast anymore.

Pull hair at top of crown, twist, and push forward a little for a cute pompadour. Secure with two crossing bobby pins and leave down or put in a pony-tail. Straighten if your hair is already straight fr a cute look. Or not, it looks good either way.





Give a long side-part and comb. Put into a loose side-pony-tail(on the big side of the part) and push over shoulder.



Get a cute-coloured elastic headband. Put around entire head(crossing over forehead) and push up a little, or pull down for a cute, urban look.

What are some different ways to style long hair on a guy?

I have long (8 inches past shoulders), brown, thick, wavy hair that was slightly layered over a year ago. I like having my hair long (though it might be too long now), but I don't like having it down too often because it gets in the way. Normally, it sits in a pony tail or bun.



I'd like to try something new. The problem I have is that since long hair is more of a female characteristic, a lot of the styles are hard to transition over to guys. I have been trying a few styles, but since I didn't grow up with long hair, I haven't had the years of experience and mentoring that it seems women get.



Can anyone offer some suggestions for new ways to style my hair? Are there any traditionally women's styles that I might be able to adapt for my hair? Are there any sort of hair accessories that I should have other than the normal hair rubber-band-thingies?



I'm willing to give anything a try at least once. The style that will turn out to look the best is probably the weirdest one. =)What are some different ways to style long hair on a guy?
With hair of that length, you should try braiding it. The simplest is a three strand plait from the nape. A bit more elaborate, probably needing your gf's help to start with, would be a French Braid (lots of thin strands could make it almost invisible) lifted away from your nape. That would form a pocket where your tail could be coiled and tucked out of sight. Of course you could coil your braid into a chignon, but that might look too elaborate for your comfort level initially.



Then there's the Colonial look. Draw your hair straight back, clean and not too tight, catching and folding it at your nape into a ';club'; caught with a simple ribbon. High toned gentlemen used a ';bag,'; a simple cloth folded and tied to catch their hair at the nape. I would forego the powder, however, unless you were invited to a dress up shindig. Even then, I would favor ';au natural'; with two or three rows of horizontal curls at the ears.



Whatever style(s) you settle on, keep at it with no embarrassment and people will soon identify your 'do as simply being part of ';you.';What are some different ways to style long hair on a guy?

I saw a ';do'; on a guy yesterday on the show ';What not to wear.'; He had it back in a ponytail, and all poofed up, like a horse's tail--but really curly. He was black, so maybe it just naturally did this...it was smoothly pulled back on his head. Looked like he'd fussed with it, though...it was quite styled.

my boyfriend has dreadies and they look awesome on him. it may not suit you tho, so you can actually get temporary dreadies where they do the same techniques but they dont use chemicals so it doesnt stay that way, and it looks a little bit cleaner and funky.

Will we ever get classical style (long hair) music again?

I listen to Beethoven's violin concerto and it moves me. I like rock and blues and nearly every genre of music--- except for maybe polka/rap fusion! (tee-hee)





But nothing moves me like the classic romantic stuff, like Ludwig's music. I am also moved by the earlier sounds of Bach and contemporaries. The music has a special quality that sets it apart from everything else. ILL WE EVER GET THIS TYPE OF MUSIC AGAIN? I know I can HEAR it in a concert hall, or on my home stereo. But I mean, will we ever have those geniuses design such wonderful music like that again?Will we ever get classical style (long hair) music again?
There are few left I fear! I totally understand what you mean. Modern music is great to listen to but just doesn't have the musicality of some of those older, great composers. Unfortunately popular music has moved away from the composers and is more interested in the performers (and they aren't great performers a lot of the time either!) I don't know that we will ever get back to the likes of Beethoven and Bach and Handel, etc. but usually things change and previous 'fads' come back into fashion - lets hope that this is one of them!Will we ever get classical style (long hair) music again?

To the OP. There still is. John Adams is an amazing composer still composing music to this day. Listen to the third movement of his violin concerto. It's easy to listen to has a great melody and is entirely orginal. We had a ton of great composers last century and hopefully this century it will continue. (John Adams Violin Concerto was written in 1993)
I really don't know. I have a couple of friends who are amazing classical composers, but for some reason, they aren't publishing their stuff! But yeah, nothing can move you like classical music. Wordless classical music.....
I really don't think we will. Music evolves just like everything else. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Vivaldi, Wagner, guys like that, in my opinion were the hard rockers of their day and that day unfortunately is gone. Except for a handful of diehards the evolution of music will continue to degrade. It doesn't make sense though, as technology advances music subsides. Just imagine what Ludwig could have done if he had access to today's instrumentation and technology. LVB Plugged In!!! Polka/rap fusion, YIKES!!! I'd have to add opera to that list too, can't stand listening to a screaming woman!!!

I know what you mean. Classical music can be so beautiful. I often listen to opera in my house and my friends give me a hard time about it. There still are composers out there creating music but its going un-noticed because if you think about it, back then when Beethoven was alive, classical music was the hype andgot all the publicity and now new works are going undiscovered. I wonder if they'res some way to bring it back.


I tend to like the more depressing classical musics, i dont know why but they are just so nice to listen to. Beethovens ';moonlight sonata'; is so pretty. You should definatly check out Yann Tiersen's music. He did the music from the French movie ';Amelie';
Isn't it strange how so many of us look forward to the next new play by some major playwright - the newest TV series or Hollywood blockbuster? Odd how we lap-up new literature and new visual art but shy away from 'new' music. I admit that there is good and bad music being written today, but those who simply dismiss all of it as if it were the same are just not listening enough. It's not OK to hear one 'modern' work you dislike and then dismiss the rest of it as all the same. We have more variety of music being written now than at any time in musical history. We should relish that variety and support GOOD new music - not hanker after pale imitations of the great music that has gone before.





Beethoven was thought insane by many of his contemporaries - he was the 'modern' music of his day. Wagner caused huge rifts in the musical world. Stravinsky broke the mould almost like no-one before (Beethoven excepted). We now embrace those composers as great cornerstones of classical music and it is insulting to suggest that there are no great composers around anymore. What about Nicholas Maw, Kalevi Aho, John Corigliano and Arvo P盲rt? Haven't heard their music? Then you are not qualified to comment!





'Classical' music was NEVER the music of the masses. There has always been popular music which the 'man in the street' listened to. It it foolish and ignorant for anyone to suggest that 'classical' music was all there was in the past.
Classical music didn't start out being ';classical'; - it was THE only music there was at some time, and a lot of it WAS that day's version of popular music.





There are many serious composers out there, but really, why would they want to write the same music as Bach (great as he was!) or Beethoven (not one of my favorites). It would only be obviously copying someone else's style. Unfortunately, even serious music is subject to trends and fashions.





There is a TON of music from the classical period that you might not have heard yet. There is ALWAYS music from whatever period you like that you can discover. Listening to a classical music station will help you find even more music that you love.





If you like Internet radio, try Pandora.com, where you can create your own classical genre station - if someone's still doing something that resembles Bach or Beethoven, that is where you'll discover the artists and composers currently out there. Good luck! Pandora.com is the best!.

so you want a change well ill give some suggestions use Jerome Russell punky semi permanent veggie based hair dye to give a tint for you id suggest purple or blue. That wont wreck your hair its safe enough to use on babies lol. but anyway i think you should get rid of the back coming to puff the sides and back well keep it just not as big. go to shoulder length 3 layers. straight, thinned out and teased a bit in the back.Get the person who cuts it to make it kinda chunky. It will give your hair a very unique look.

If your hair is naturally curly then you will have to flat iron it everyday or get it chemically straightened if you want it to be straight like that. If you will flat iron it you can use a mousse or shine serum to keep it from frizzing and make it shiny.



If you are trying to grow it out, don't shave your head.

How to style long hair in a spiky/quirky/messy way if you're a girl?

Basically, I have fairly long hair (it's about 2 or 3 inches below my shoulder, so not excessively long) and personally, I'm not into that super straight look and I want to sort of go for the messy big volume look but without too much of the tangles! At the moment I just use Pantene mousse and scrunch it a bit, but it just appears tangled. I want volume and wave with a bit of mess but it easy to put in a ponytail. Like when I go to school, all the girls pretty much have ';straight-board'; side fringes but this school year, I want to try something different. I have quite a sweeping long fringe (not too wide though lol so not VERY emo) and I don't really want it curly, just a little bit messed up and uneven although still keeping my hair fairly tangle free. You know, like the girls in the VO5 Army Camp advert? I want it fairly tame but quite messy and uneven if you get what I mean.

My guess would be that you've got someone who is stuck in the past. Maybe the 80's were a great time for him and he's trying to hold onto it any way he can. Seems kinda weird to me though.

I cut my hair off a few years ago but I loved doing crazy outrageous things take a look at what I talking about! Oh, and I didn't do it so perfect or exactly but close,just play with it! I also used to find unusual clips to spice things up like chopsticks.

i have extremely thick strait long dark brown hair, and i love it. what i do it just leave it down. you could aslo try a side pony tail. my favorite way to do my hair (if i wake up early enough) is to curl it. not actual curls but large soft body curls.
